Nothing is worse than buying a new car and then suddenly noticing an ugly scratch that you don’t even understand how you got! Scratches can really lessen the visual appeal of any motor and can make them look flawed and unkempt no matter how nice of a car you have. Even the smallest scratches somehow manage to become eyesores as they ruin the paintwork and smoothness of your cars texture and appearance. Of course, other than the visual aspects of this, scratches can also lessen the value of your car so it is worth understanding how to both prevent scratches and maintain them in order to maximise the value of your vehicle and prevent it from looking less than perfect.

Preventing Bodywork Scratches

In preventing scratches and maintaining car paint, stick to one basic rule – drive and park as carefully as possible! Park well away from other cars when possible, and if not, be always on the alert for potential scratches. It is also advisable to park away from shops and buildings if you can. Also try to avoid unpaved roads as these can shoot out loose pebbles and stones which can scratch paintwork.

Maintaining Those Annoying Scratches

If and when you do scratch your automobile, PaintTouchUp states that ”there are many things you can do yourself to cover up the imperfections and shallow scratches. Touch up paint kits are widely available and can be quite easily applied to most shallow scratches even if you have never attempted it before”. They will fill in the gap and blend in with the rest of the colour provided you have managed to pick the most suitable shade. Also don’t through it away when you’re done – keep any leftover paint for future scratches. The scratch you have already touched up may also need tweaking in the future so keep any remnants safely around for a car touch up. Deeper or more aggressive scratches may need the attention of a professional as may require more than a simple paint touch up.

Getting your vehicle scratched is almost an inevitable event. But knowing how to prevent it by careful driving and parking can really help to avoid it happening. It is also worth remembering that scratches are not the end of the world – they can quite easily be maintained using the right car touch up paint. These kits are relatively inexpensive and are a really worthwhile investment in order to maintain both the visual appeal and value of your car.

By the year 2030, electric vehicles will account for 20 per cent of the entire car market, according to research from analysts at IHS Global Insight. However, within the fleet sector, where cost is king and performance and reliability take precedence over size and style, you could reasonably expect that figure to be much larger.

Companies have long been aware of the environmental benefits of reducing the carbon output of their cars, but the way in which this translates to cost savings is really starting to sink in. Not only do companies have to spend less on fuel and diesel – the prices of which having now reached record levels – but the government has, in its bid to reduce carbon emissions, reduced the road tax levy for vehicles which emit less carbon.

Interest in hybrid vehicles such as the Toyota Prius and all-electric models such as the Nissan LEAF is blossoming, and in the technology that surrounds them. Getting experts from the likes of Evo Energy to install solar technology involves an up-front fee, but really should be seen a long-term investment. Red Dwarf actor and green enthusiast Robert Llewellyn says his roof-mounted solar cells provide 85 per cent of the electricity he needs for his LEAF; getting the rest from the National Grid costs him a little over £5 for a 1,000-mile journey.

Fleet managers are also keenly aware of the benefits, especially as the technology develops. The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association estimates that when the new Chevrolet Volt and Vauxhall Ampera reach the UK market, 80 per cent of them could end up as company cars. Meanwhile, the government is also looking to persuade firms to switch to low-carbon motoring, offering discounts on the purchase price of low-carbon vehicles through the Plug-in Car Grant. This provides a 25 per cent reduction of the purchase price – up to a value of £5,000 – when buying an eligible low-carbon model.

While the performance of contemporary solar panels cannot – yet – completely power a car using cells placed on the vehicle’s roof, designers are looking at how this system can improve the economy of hybrid vehicles. For now though, using electric and hybrid vehicles and installing solar panels to generate renewable electricity to power them is a viable way for fleet managers to cut back on their costs. It does involve a bit of planning, but the latest IHS report lays these out clearly and further highlights the potential savings that companies can make.

The very fact that you’re reading this article tells me that you’re even just the tiniest bit interested in a Vauxhall lease deal. If you’ve just glanced at the title and thought it’d be worth your time reading then congratulations, you were right! Hopefully this article will provide you with some quality information and help you make up your mind.

In recent years Vauxhall leasing has become immensely popular, amongst businesses as well as individuals. The demand for leased Vauxhalls doesn’t really seem to be stopping. This is due to how prolific and successful Vauxhall is as a manufacturer. It’s also due to how beneficial leasing is.

If there’s a Vauxhall out there that you’ve always wanted but never had the money to purchase, then you’re in for a treat. Your dream car will be available to you if you decide to take part in a Vauxhall lease, this is because of how easy budgeting is made when you enter a deal.

Instead of paying a large lump sum amount, like you would if you were to purchase outright, all you have to do is make small monthly payments. This makes it so simple to budget each month and allows you to opt for your dream car because of how little you’re paying.

Financially, Vauxhall leasing is very beneficial indeed. Added extras can make a deal even more cost effective, such as road tax inclusion and maintenance cover cost. Make sure to do your homework and check these are available with the leasing company you decide on, though.

Feeling strongly towards vehicles is something that has always been around. Gear-heads have tinkered lovingly with cars for decades, centuries even! We at Saveonnewcars.co.uk are just as passionate about cars, but in another way.

No you, nothing rude – so don’t go getting your hopes up. We love finding the very best car deals around so that we can pass them on to you. We’ve developed a foolproof method of finding the cheapest cars and we’re very passionate about it.

It starts with finding a franchised dealer, from here we can negotiate a deal with them about cars they have in stock. If they accept we can then offer you the vehicles that they have available.

All of our deals are available online and only online. This is because once a car is gone, it’s gone. These rock-bottom prices that we manage to wangle out of the dealers are only for the online community. Believe me, they mazdsell like hot-cakes.

It’s both a good thing and a bad thing that we can only provide the cars we have available to you. It’s bad because, obviously, if a car gets sold we can’t sell it again until we have another one in stock in one of our dealerships.

On the other hand, knowing that your cheaply priced car could be snatched up at any time stops you from hesitating. The peace of mind that comes afterwards is brilliant as well. Knowing that you’ve got a low price and a high-quality car all in the same day is an amazing feeling!

Everyone wants a better deal on everything, yet with the demand for used cars rising, it seems like there are fewer chances to take advantage of low prices on even used Ford cars, a brand that continues to be the top-selling marque in the UK. With this in mind, it’s worth examining your options for lowering your outgoings on your next investment. Here are a few top tips for when you next grace the various forecourts up and down the country.

Research your car of choice

Chances are that you already know the model of car you want. With this in mind, you need to make sure you do your research prior to going down to a dealership; a great place to start is online at car auction websites, which often hold records of past sales. Obviously, you need to remember that prices will vary depending on the model and extras, but you’ll still know if you can argue for a better price.

Haggle, haggle, haggle

It’s an easy point to make, but haggling is extremely important. The value of used cars fluctuates, as do the requirements to sell from car dealers. Remember that a used car salesman may go down on his price more at different times of the month or year in order to make targets and win bonuses, so consider waiting until near the end of a month or quarter for a better offer. Consider offering less in cash, or paying the price he asks for and taking mark-downs in the form of optional extras like metallic paint or satnav systems.

Pay as much up front as possible

As with insurance or mortgages, it’s always best to have as much money as possible to buy a car, or at least make a down payment towards it. Consider trading your old car in too – it’ll save on hassle and you may get much better value for it – they may even give you more than the car is worth. Try to avoid financing deals if you can, though – a lot of them can get quite extortionate after a year or two has elapsed, so read the small print.

Car security is getting a lot better. Each and every year, more people are installing safety devices that are able to respond to theft. However, much like the internet, criminals continue to get around security measures with new techniques. One worrying development is the increasingly common targeting of catalytic converters.

The rising number of catalytic converter thefts, which has led individuals to make a number of claims on Staveley Head van insurance and other policies, is due to the properties of this clever piece of equipment. Thieves are encouraged by the higher prices now paid for precious metals that are used in the component. This component was first developed back in the 1970s with the aim of reducing harmful exhaust fumes.

A previous run of thefts in early 2008 took place as prices for platinum, palladium and rhodium rocketed - the same metals used in the creation of catalytic converters. While prices for cars have stayed relatively consistent in the last couple of years, prices for these metals have continued on an upward path since late 2008.

The issue has led to a number of police-led taskforces being established to deal with the problem. In Hertfordshire, the local police force is targeting metal thieves while working closely with scrap metal dealers to tighten processes for scrap metal acceptance. British Telecom, Virgin Media, EDF, Trading Standards and the British Transport Police are also involved, as is the wider police network.

Liz Hanlon, detective chief inspector in the county, said that the theft of catalytic converters is an issue “we are working hard to tackle”.

She continued: “Residents and local businesses can help too by reporting any suspicious behaviour in progress in their neighbourhood to police via 999 – with catalytic converter theft in particular, look out for people hanging around vehicles at unusual times and make sure you make use of your drive or a garage if you have one.”

Tonnes of people want to get their hands on an Insignia. It’s a popular car (one of Vauxhall’s most sought after) and is reliable and refined. If you’re one of the many fans and want to get behind an Insignia wheel why not read about leasing first? Vauxhall Insignia leasing could end up being a lot kinder to your wallet than an outright purchase.

In the long run the price difference between an outright purchase and a leasing deal will be minimal. In the here and now however, it makes a hell of a difference. Making small payments each month is so much simpler than having to pay a lump sum all in one go.

The price of the monthly payments all depends on what happens during your contract negotiations, so depending on how well you fare (and how good your bartering skills are) you could end up with a brilliant bargain!

Some companies even include additional extras such as road tax inclusion, ask about this, sometimes you’ll be expected to pay for maintenance cover costs and features such as this but you might get lucky and find a leasing company who’ll throw it in for you.

Whether you decide to purchase or lease a car at least read up about the benefits and downsides of each option. You may be in a situation where buying a car is no trouble at all, if leasing suits your needs and lifestyle though then why not take a look at all of the amazing offers available online.

In this particular blog we’re going to take a quick look at an often overlooked method of finding the cheapest Peugeot 207 prices around. Why a Peugeot 207 (I’m sure you’re all asking)? No exact reason, it’s just a well-known car and serves as a pretty good example.

So if you were to go about this the ‘traditional’ way, where would you start? Perhaps you’d browse through a newspaper and check the listings, see if anybody has a cheap second hand 207. What are the chances of that happening though?

Maybe you could stick your coat on and go check out the local car dealerships? Seems like a good idea but they could easily all be out of your price range. Searching for a car can be a pain sometimes, that’s why you need to try out some new methods.

I’m sure you’re all well aware of the internet (you have to be if you’re reading this)? The awesome power of the internet has provided us with a massive amount of information and entertainment, it’s because of the internet that I’m unable to go 15 minutes without looking at GIFs of cats and checking up obscure facts on Wikipedia.

Online car buying sites are popping up all over the web now as well, sites such as Oneswoop.com that allow you to browse and compare vehicles for free. By using these you’ll be able to request quotes and even arrange a test drive in your car of choice.

Search for the exact car you’re looking for or maybe try a wider search and broaden your horizons. Compare prices and deals and you’re sure to find the cheapest cars available. Maybe that Peugeot 207 is actually a lot closer than you think.

Give it a go, it’s not going to hurt and at the end of the day it’s free anyway. You stand to lose nothing and even if you don’t gain a car you’re at least gaining valuable information about prices and contracts – all of this can come in handy when it’s time to negotiate a contract!

Information provided by Oneswoop.com – the free car price comparison website that brings you the very best deals and new car prices. Take a look around the site, see what you can learn and find the best PCH, BCH, LP, HP and PCP deals.
